Charlotte L. Wright
Cenerville, IN – Charlotte L. Wright, age 94, of Centerville, died Thursday, January 26, 2012, at her home.
Born December 5, 1917, in Berea, Ky., to John Franklin and Emily Barrett Hawkins, she lived most of her life in Centerville. Charlotte was a graduate of Berea College Academy, Berea College, and Bethesda School of Nursing in Cincinnati, Ohio. She was a registered nurse at Reid Hospital for 35 years. Charlotte was a missionary with American Friends Service Committee from 1947-1948 at Castaneur Hospital in Puerto Rico. She was founding volunteer at Circle-U Help Center for 20 years. She was a member of First Friends Church.
Survivors include her daughters, Sue Miller of Centerville and Mary (Ted) Senior of Bedford, Ind.; grandchildren, Sarah and David Miller, and Forrest (Kelly) Senior and Carmela Senior; four great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Wright who died in 2010; son, Stephen Wright; her parents; brothers and sisters; and son-in-law, Neil Miller.
A private graveside service will be at the convenience of the family. There will be no public visitation. Mills Funeral Home, Centerville, is in charge of arrangements.

Verne M. Schwab
Richmond, IN – Verne M. Schwab, age 77, of Richmond, died peacefully Thursday, January 26, 2012, at his home.
Born February 9, 1934, in Richmond to Charles A. and Elizabeth Rodefer Schwab, he was a life-long resident of Richmond. Verne worked in construction with the Labor Union. He attended the Centerville Church of the Nazarene and was a member of the American Legion and the Druids Lodge. Verne enjoyed hunting, especially turtle hunting, and trapping.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Carolyn Alvey Schwab; son, Mike (Lori) Schwab of Fountain City; daughter, Christine (Bruce) Walters of Richmond; six grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Betty Weilenman of Cambridge City and Cleo Durham of Richmond; and brother, Conley Schwab of Lynn.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Timothy R. Schwab; and brother, William E. Schwab.
Visitation for Verne M. Schwab will be from 9 to 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 30, 2012, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 30, 2012, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home with Rev. Ray McCrary officiating. Burial will be in Elkhorn Cemetery.

Jerry D. Toney Sr.
Richmond, IN - Jerry D. “Grandpa Toney” Toney Sr. 81 of Richmond went to be with the Lord Tuesday January 24, 2012 at his home with his family by his side, after a long courageous battle with cancer. He was born December 17, 1930 in Richmond to Robert and Verda Golan Blair Toney and lived here all his life.
He retired from Eaton Gear after working 35 years and was a greeter at Wal-Mart. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War serving as an engineer. He was a member of Kirk Little VFW Post #1108.
Mr. Toney was a member of a non-denominational church and loved the Lord. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He enjoyed his children, grand children, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchild. He also enjoyed the company of his best friends Clint C. Wolfe Sr. and John Terhaar.
He is survived by his four children Lou Ann Revalee, Deborah Toney, Jerry D. Toney Jr. of Richmond and Jamie (John) Terhaar of Williamsburg, three grand children Robert (Angela) Howard of Gilbert, Arizona, Jerry D. Toney III of Richmond, and Shannon (Clint) Wolfe Centerville, eight great grandchildren Tabitha Vargo of Richmond Alana Toney and Mekala Akers of Laurel, Jonathon Terhaar of Williamsburg, Clint Wolfe II of Centerville, Trinity, Liberty and Hope Howard of Arizona, one great-great grandchild Sophie Vargo of Richmond.
Also surviving are four brothers Larry (Jean) Toney and Jim Toney of Brownsville, Carey Toney of Middletown, and Nathan Toney of Kentucky, six sisters Ann Eliason and Sarah Hollingsworth of Richmond, Nancy Marsh of Florida, Linda Scott of Alabama, Dixie Knecht of Arizona, and Judith Toney of Brownsville, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years Sherald Toney in 1992, his parents, three brothers Tom, Bob, and Simeon Toney, three sisters Imogene Jones, Mary Fox, and Charlotte Urwiller.
Funeral services and veterans honors will be 2:00 PM Saturday January 28, 2012 at Stegall-Berheide-Orr Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Howard officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Elkhorn Cemetery. Friends may call 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM Saturday at the funeral home.
